Short Stories: Once Upon a Tweet

@meghannnUpon realizing that if the rumors are to be actualized, 2012 could very well be the last year to enjoy life on Earth, a gal from Texas determined that it was about time she took her hustle to new heights.

And that’s how it all began.

She set her sights on taking New York tech and the digital communications industry by storm, putting her gift for gab, inquisitive nature, passion for great experiences, and Ambient Information fetish to work on behalf of brands who want to build valuable connections with the people who love them through strategic online communication.

Upon discovering a group of like-minded media artists, it became apparent that this was a match made in the cloud! They teamed up during a pivotal year for Big Brands in the Social Space to weave and leave a lasting legacy from Facebook to Pinterest and everywhere in between.

When she’s not developing strategies to help clients inspire Bieber Fever-esque excitement in their communities, our heroine can often be spotted dancing her way down the street or typing as fast as 50 WPM on her iPhone.

Hey, Likeable! If you liked this story, let’s bring it to life! My resume and cover letter are in your inbox, my voice is on Twitter, and I’m in it to win it!

Things that will most definitely happen in 2012.

First and foremost: blogging! Blogging is happening! Hooray!

Also:

There will be more dancing. This means more shimmying, more shakin’ it, more wiggling, more dougie-doing, less cryp-walking but more two-stepping, tons of twirling, more bouncing, and finally, by extension, more screaming at the top of our lungs.

There will be moderation. Things to be done in moderation as opposed to radical extremes are inclusive of but not limited to: cocktailing. frivolity. cleaning up messes. cooking. beauty-sleeping. shopping. Can you guess which ones I do too much of and which I don’t nearly do enough?

WE WILL AMP IT UP. 2011 was great, but I didn’t really bring it. Sure — showing up is half the battle (Sometimes more. I mean, have you tried 6AM yoga after a night out with your gay boyfriend?), but that’s not enough. There are a few instances I can think of that occured over the past year in which I was there, but I wasn’t really there. Some of those moments were critical. I resolve to take it up a knotch. I’ver never been keen on measurement conversions, but one notch may not even be enough. Regardless: Think bigger. Work harder. Stand straighter. Pay attention to detail. Play to win.

STOP GETTING IN YOUR OWN WAY. Stop procrastinating. Stop making excuses. Stop putting it off. Find out where you want to go. Lead with the heart.

Lastly, there will be more tools. No, I don’t want to date you. I’m talking technology. There will be a significant increase in productivity, connectivity, and delight, by way of smart digital solutions.

Oh — and I’m still supporting the hell out of the Oxford Comma.

Stephens out!
